Downloading ebooks
The ebooks we send out are in the ePub 3 format, because this is the only format that supports data recording inside the ebook.
Unfortunately, some ereaders and ebook reading apps, such as Kindle and Nook, cannot be supported at this time, because they don't use the ePub3 format. However, iBooks, Adobe Digital Editions, Vitalsource Bookshelf, and a wide range of Android apps can be used.
The ebooks you have selected can be downloaded from the "My Books" section on jellybooks.com one at a time to any device with a supported ebook reading app. Just click on the cover and then on the green "download" button.
How does your browser handle book samples?
- Chrome: The file is visible in the lower left-hand corner of the browser window when using on PCs. On Android smartphones, it will prompt you to choose from the apps already installed that can read ePub files. Warning: For unknown reasons, the download will not complete when using the Chrome browser on an iOS device (iPhone or iPad). Please use Safari instead.
- Internet Explorer: IE/Windows will automatically launch the sample in whatever reading application you have installed as your default ebook reading application.
- Firefox: Firefox will prompt you to select the right program to open the sample. Warning: For unknown reasons, the download will not complete when using the Firefox browser on a Linux machine. We really don't know why yet.
- Safari: Safari will automatically launch the sample in iBooks unless you have another reading program installed in which case it will prompt you to choose the reading app you would like to use.
